Welcome to Eel Activists Wairarapa

Eel Activists Wairarapa was established in a cafe in Masterton, one Wednesday evening in the middle of winter in July 2019, by a group of people who are deeply concerned that the Ministry of Primary Industries continues to allow the commercial fishing of longfin eels - tuna tuwharewhare despite the imminent threat of functional extinction of this special and unique species. Various types of actions are planned. At this stage I am currently working on setting up this blog site as means of communication and promotion of the cause. More information will follow soon.
